Members of the Kazakh national zhamby atu
team are honing their skills in the Almaty region ahead of the fifth World
Nomad Games. Four athletes will represent the country at the competition. One
of them is Batyr Beksauyt from the Turkistan region. The youngest member of the
national team won a gold medal at the World Horseback Archery Championship in
Mongolia last year and has also competed in other international tournaments.
«We are actively preparing for the
competition and feel a tremendous sense of responsibility since the fifth World
Nomad Games are a major event. We dream of becoming champions and raising the
national flag of Kazakhstan to the sound of our anthem,» Beksauyt said.
The athletes are physically fit and fully
prepared for the competition. Their training regimen includes intensive
physical workouts in the mornings and horseback riding sessions in the
afternoons. According to the head coach, such rigorous preparations are driven
by the high level of competition in the sport.
«Around 80 athletes from 27 countries are
expected to take part in zhamby atu sport at the fifth World Nomad Games. The
competition promises to be very exciting. This sport is well-developed in other
countries as well. We can say that our athletes are among the top ten in the
ranking,» stated Yeldos Badashev, head coach of Kazakhstan’s national zhamby
atu team.
