Next week in Kazakhstan
is expected to be filled with major political events. The Akorda press service
has announced upcoming events involving President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. From
April 20 to 23, at the invitation of the Head of State, Mongolian President
Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh will pay a state visit to Kazakhstan. During high-level
talks, the sides are expected to discuss prospects for strengthening political,
trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two
countries.
From April 22 to 24,
Astana will host the Regional Ecological Summit 2026. The new dialogue platform
under the auspices of the United Nations is intended to develop a shared vision
for the sustainable development of Central Asia and to formulate joint responses
to climate and environmental challenges. The event will bring together heads of
state and government from a number of countries, as well as leaders of
international organizations.
According to the Akorda
press service, on April 22 a meeting of the Council of Heads of State-Founders
of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea will be held under the
chairmanship of President Tokayev.
