A concert commemorating the 110th
birth anniversary of prominent Kazakh composer Mukan Tulebayev was held at the
Astana Opera Theater. The symphony orchestra, choir, and soloists of the
theater delivered the maestro’s renowned works, alongside compositions by
contemporary authors, some of which were performed for the first time ever. Art
enthusiasts were presented with excerpts from Tulebayev's opera ‘Kozy Korpesh
and Bayan Sulu’ and some of his romances. Additionally, the audience enjoyed
the aria from the ‘Abai’ opera by Akhmet Zhubanov and Latif Khamidi, and the
‘Flowers’ Dance’ from Abzal Mukhitdin’s opera ‘Al-Farabi’. It is worth noting
that the evening featured two world premieres: a Concerto for Violin and
Orchestra by Alibi Abdinurov, specially composed for the occasion, and the
vocal-symphonic poem ‘Farab-Otyrar’ by Serikzhan Abdinurov.
“This event marks the concluding
concert dedicated to the year of Mukan Tulebayev. We have decided to include
musicians from different generations of the Kazakh compositional school in the
program, which allows for tracing the evolution since the establishment of the
professional organization – the Union of Composers. It bears noting that the
Union will celebrate its 85th anniversary next year,” said Serikzhan Abdinurov,
Kazakh Composers’ Union Chairman.
