Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met Türkiye’s Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, who is visiting Kazakhstan for the first time. Welcoming the distinguished guest, Tokayev noted that Türkiye is a strategic partner of Kazakhstan, and that the two brotherly nations are bound by ties of mutual trust and respect. The two sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation, particularly in industry, energy, logistics, agriculture, education, and tourism. Tokayev emphasized that today’s meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Astana would also contribute to further deepening collaboration. They also exchanged views on the international agenda, including the situation in the Middle East. Tokayev confirmed his participation in the upcoming Antalya Diplomacy Forum and highly praised Türkiye’s role in ensuring regional stability. In turn, Yılmaz conveyed warm greetings from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He noted that Erdoğan attaches particular importance to the upcoming visit to Kazakhstan and to his participation in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Turkistan.
«Over nearly 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye has developed steadily and reached a qualitatively new level. There are no contradictions or disagreements between the two countries. On May 14, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay a state visit to Kazakhstan. During the visit, we will hold the next meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council and sign a number of new agreements,» Tokayev said.
«I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the
warm reception. I also extend greetings from the President of Türkiye, Recep
Tayyip Erdoğan, and the Turkish people. We are confident that the consistent
reforms being implemented in Kazakhstan under your leadership will strengthen
the country’s resilience. We sincerely wish that the new Constitution adopted
in the referendum will serve the continued development of the country,» Yılmaz said.
