The National Museum
of Kazakhstan is currently hosting a personal exhibition entitled ‘A Life Full
of Traditions’ by the renowned Kazakh artist Yassaui Agitayev. This exposition
showcases more than 70 works dedicated to the culture and traditions of the
Kazakh people. Each painting bears the unique artistic style of the master, immersing
viewers into the life of the people and unveiling the natural wonders of
Kazakhstan, as well as the richness of the nomadic heritage from the Great
Steppe. Agitayev’s artwork captures various customs and rituals, such as syrga
salu, betashar, tusau kesu, kuda tusu, shashu, kyz uzatu, and besik salu. The
artist's paintings are distinguished by a bright palette of colors. They convey
the joyous atmosphere and the uniqueness of the centuries-old culture of
nomads, the artist says. The exhibition will run until the end of August and
welcomes every resident and guest of the Kazakh capital.
“In 2019, I painted
for 60 days and held a solo exhibition in Cyprus. The experience inspired me to
consider organizing an exhibition in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, and I
started the preparations. I selected works very carefully as I wanted to
encompass the entire theme. The genre of my art is devoted to national
traditions, depicting both rural and urban life of the Kazakh people in all my
paintings,” said Agitayev.
