Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev received National Security Committee (NSC) Chairman Yermek Sagimbayev,
who provided a report on the main outcomes of the agency’s efforts to combat
terrorism and religious extremism since the start of 2024. According to
Sagimbayev, since that time, two terrorist attacks were prevented, including
one jointly with foreign partners abroad. A total of 139 foreigners were denied
entry into Kazakhstan, and over 280 foreign citizens were deported from the
country due to extremist views. Following the meeting, the Head of State gave a
series of instructions to enhance anti-terrorism activities.
