Armed forces of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan conduct joint military exercises

The armed forces of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have completed the second stage of the Kanzhar-2023 joint military exercises in the Mangystau region. At the Oymash training range, a combined tactical unit of special forces was given the task to develop a response algorithm in case of a terrorist threat, as well as detect and eliminate illegal armed groups. The training took place in conditions similar to combat, with the involvement of artillery and anti-aircraft systems, helicopters, planes and drones. In early August, the first stage of joint exercises in the form of a computerized command and staff development was conducted in Uzbekistan. The exercises are aimed at ensuring military security in the Central Asian region.

“The main objective of command and staff exercises is to detect and eliminate illegal armed groups on the border, as well as to exchange experience with each other,” said Berdimurat Abibullayev, commander of the military unit 25744.
