Almaty tightens quarantine restrictions

Quarantine restrictions will be strengthened in Almaty from July 7. The decision of the city chief state sanitary doctor will come into force. A day earlier, the metropolis moved into “yellow” zone in terms of the spread of coronavirus. In particular, since July 7, it is recommended to wear masks in crowded indoor spaces, including in buses, metro, malls, indoor markets, public service centers, banks, cinemas, circuses, concert halls, bus stations as well as at sporting events with viewers and conferences. In addition, the document states that mayors of the districts, state bodies need to conduct awareness-raising work with the population on the need for vaccination and revaccination every 6 months, as well as switching employees with contraindications to the procedure, pregnant women and contact patients for remote working.
