Over the
past six years, the Astana International Financial Centre Court (AIFC Court) and
the International Arbitration Centre (IAC) have resolved nearly 2,600 disputes encompassing
a wide range of issues of commercial activities in Kazakhstan. Overall, investors from 28 countries, including European states, the UAE,
China, and India, sought their services. In the future, the AIFC aims to become
a universal platform connecting the EAEU countries, Central Asia, and the
Caucasus. To date, AIFC offices are operational in nine other Eurasian
countries, including a recent opening of a world-class office in Beijing. According
to experts, reliable legal protection of investors is a significant factor
attracting businesses to Kazakhstan.
«The status
and importance of what we are trying to achieve in Kazakhstan for Kazakhstan
through this court and arbitration center at the Astana International Financial
Centre is improving and increasing year on year. We hope that it will be here
for many years to come to continue building reputation and more success with
attracting investments to the climate of Kazakhstan,» said Christopher
Campbell-Holt, Registrar and Chief Executive of the AIFC Court.
