In Kazakhstan, the gradual integration of artificial intelligence into the secondary education system is underway. Following President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s instruction, a comprehensive plan through 2029 has been developed. A total of 500 schools across the country have been selected to participate in a three-year pilot project. The first phase will launch on September 1 in educational institutions in the Kyzylorda and Pavlodar regions, where AI-powered solutions will be tested in mathematics, digital literacy, and native language classes. A national AI platform offering personalized learning and additional student data protection mechanisms will also be created. 350,000 teachers have already completed training courses on the use of digital technologies, including the integration of AI assistants into the educational process. School curricula for studying the new Constitution will also be finalized by the end of the summer holidays. The instruction was announced by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov during a government meeting.

«Particular attention must be given to educational work with children and adolescents. During the summer, all curricula and methodological guidelines for the practical study of the new Constitution and the fundamentals of artificial intelligence within the education system should be finalized,» Olzhas Bektenov noted.

Nearly four million schoolchildren in Kazakhstan have completed the academic year. The Government has outlined plans for organizing their summer holidays this year. More than 11,000 children’s centers and camps will operate across the country, including school-based, countryside, and year-round facilities. During the holidays, children will also be able to visit museums, theaters, libraries, and cultural centers free of charge. Olzhas Bektenov instructed officials to expand the list of such venues.
