Students from Central Asian medical universities complete training in Astana

Approximately 20 medical university students from the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan recently completed training in Astana. During the program, they were introduced to the practices of local doctors and learned about new technologies used in healthcare. The seminars were organized by the Kazakhstan Agency for International Development (KazAID). The project was launched last year and conducted in two phases, offering educational courses for future doctors and faculty members from specialized universities across Central Asia.

«It wasn’t just the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan - Tajikistan also took part, so three countries were involved. This is very important for cultural and knowledge exchange,» shared Akylai Shakenova, student of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy.

This is not the only such program. Kazakhstan also exchanges knowledge and expertise with the countries in the region across various fields. By expanding academic mobility programs, the Central Asian countries are strengthening their partnership.

«This program is offered free of charge to participants thanks to a KazAID grant. We have three key programs, including ‘Dostyk-Diplomacy’ for training diplomats, ‘Avicenna: Healthcare’ for medical professionals, and ‘Dostyk: Digitalization’ for IT specialists. All these programs are aimed at professionals from Central Asian countries - we invite them to Kazakhstan for training, and this is already the second year of the project,» noted Armanai Kabdeshova, Press Secretary of the Kazakhstan Agency for International Development «KazAID».
