Additional 8,000 places in health camps prepared for flood-affected children

The Kazakh Ministry of Education continues its efforts to organize the educational process in regions of Kazakhstan affected by floods. High-speed internet is being installed to ensure communication and quality organization of distance learning. Currently, 13 schools in the Kostanai, Aktobe, Ulytau, and East Kazakhstan regions have been connected to the Starlink network. Approximately 5,000 school students, previously placed in evacuation centers, have already been accommodated in children’s health centers and dormitories. Furthermore, an additional 8,000 spots have been prepared for children and their parents.

“To support teachers, the deadlines for their certification in the Atyrau, Akmola, Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan, and Kostanai regions have been postponed to a later date. Monitoring of students’ educational achievements in 42 schools across the country has been canceled. Summative assessments for units and terms have also been canceled for all school students in the Aktobe and Atyrau regions. Decisions regarding each case are made individually by local executive bodies, following the protocol of the Ministry of Education,” said Mereke Nurmukhanova, spokesperson for the Kazakh Ministry of Education.
