Medical organizations in rural areas will be integrated into a unified health information system, which will enable village residents to receive quality medical care locally. In this respect, there are plans to tackle the issues of staff shortages in villages, and improve the qualification of rural health workers, Alikhan Smailov announced at the Government’s meeting. The Kazakh Prime Minister noted that these and other measures are envisaged in the ‘Modernization of Rural Healthcare’ national project. As part of it, 655 primary health care facilities will be built and reconstructed,12 existing district hospitals will be modernized and 20 new ones will be opened.
“Medical facilities will also be built as part of other projects. For example, ‘Auyl - Yel Besigi' project’. A total of about 700 health facilities will be opened for rural residents. All the measures envisaged in the project would improve the availability of high-quality medical services in rural areas. In this regard, I propose to approve this national project. The Health Ministry together with the relevant state bodies and local administrations should ensure the timely implementation of the measures envisaged in the National Project,” Smailov said.
