Kazakhstan has introduced new
financial support tools for students, including the unified voluntary savings
system «Keleshek», the National Fund for Children program, preferential
educational loans, and differentiated grants. Kazakh Minister of Science and
Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek reported this at a meeting with President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Additionally, agreements have been reached with foreign
partners to transform regional state universities into research universities
adhering to international education standards. Following the meeting, the Head
of State gave several instructions to the minister for the further development
of higher education and science infrastructure, including the construction of
dormitories.
«As of today, 25 branches of foreign
universities have been opened in the country. These include four large
campuses: De Montfort University in Almaty, Coventry University and Cardiff
University in Astana, and Woosong University in Turkistan. Additionally, it was
reported about new mechanisms within the signed Law on Science and Technology
Policy, which expand the functionality of the Science Fund and implement the
globally recognized TRL methodology at all levels. It was also noted that the
National Academy of Sciences has been granted a new status, becoming the
highest scientific organization,» Nurbek said.
