178 billion tenge invested in Zhetisu region development

A total of 178 billion tenge in investments were attracted to the Zhetisu region in the first half of 2025. In addition, an investment portfolio for 2025–2027 has been formed in the region, consisting of 128 projects worth over 2.5 trillion tenge. The region’s governor Beibit Issabayev briefed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the region’s socio-economic development results and upcoming plans. According to him, planned projects include the construction of a mining and processing plant, the ‘Kazakhstan-China international industrial city’ industrial park, a wind power plant manufacturing facility, and an international cargo-passenger airport.

«The Head of State paid special attention to accelerating the socio-economic development of border districts and completing major infrastructure projects in the region. In particular, he emphasized the need to develop the tourism sector in the Zhetisu region. A number of directives were issued to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of tasks in this area,» Issabayev noted.
