Kazakhstan ready to boost exports to Tajikistan by $190 million

Kazakhstan is ready to ramp up exports to Tajikistan across 85 commodity items, totaling $190 million, as announced by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov during his official visit to Dushanbe, where he met Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda. The parties discussed prospects for trade and economic cooperation and expressed their intention to continue increasing bilateral trade, aiming to reach $2 billion. Priority areas of partnership also include the industrial sector, energy, agriculture, and transportation. The countries are considering joint development of deposits in Tajikistan. Additionally, Kazakhstan may supply railway equipment, including rails and beams, locomotives, diesel locomotives, transformers, and batteries. Agriculture also presents collaboration opportunities, particularly in flour milling and livestock product processing. One of the new areas of cooperation is digitalization, where Kazakhstan will provide support to Tajikistan in deploying its own national eGOV systems.
