This year,
Kazakhstan has launched over 120 projects in the processing industry, with a
total allocation exceeding 488 billion tenge, according to the country’s
Ministry of Industry and Construction. These initiatives include the launch of
an enrichment plant in the Aktobe region for processing accumulated sludge and
the technical launch of special coke production in the Karagandy region.
Additionally, a domestic household appliance production facility opened in the
Saran industrial zone. Furthermore, various enterprises manufacturing
automobiles of different brands and components started operating in the
country. It bears noting that as part of the transition to a new economic model
announced by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his state-of-the-nation
address, structural economic reforms were outlined, with particular emphasis on
establishing a robust industrial framework for the country.
“In 2023, the government implemented a series of measures to support industrial development. The updated Concept for the development of the manufacturing industry for 2023-2029 was approved, outlining financial and non-financial support and incentive measures. The total funding for projects exceeds 620 billion tenge, including preferential lending. In efforts to provide raw materials, 25 trilateral agreements, 35 long-term contracts, and 10 agreements have been signed. Overall, 325 projects have been implemented in special economic zones,” said Kazakh Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapayev.
In 2023, Kazakhstan also commenced manufacturing of new products that were not produced previously. Among these are petrochemical reagents, cartridges for solar panels, electronic temperature transmitters, high-voltage vacuum circuit breakers, and multifunctional meters.
