Kazakhstan is increasing its agricultural exports, with
grain shipments growing and export destinations expanding since the beginning
of the year. Notably, Iran has started purchasing Kazakh barley again. Over 10
months, 710,000 tonnes were shipped to the country, a 69 percent increase
compared to previous levels. Corn exports have also risen by one and a half
times, with Iran, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan purchasing 117,000 tonnes from
Kazakhstan. Domestic lentils are also in demand abroad, with exports increasing
sevenfold to 80,000 tonnes, with the majority going to European countries.
Additionally, Kazakhstan aims to set a record in oil and fat product exports to
China, with a target of reaching $250 million. Kazakh oilseed processing plants
have already signed contracts for $56 million at the China International Import
Expo in Shanghai.
