World premiere of Kazakh-Turkish film held at Cannes Film Festival

The world premiere of the Kazakh-Turkish film ‘Sophiya’ took place at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival. According to the filmmakers, the movie attempts to delve into the human soul, showcasing emotions and relationships that unite everyone, regardless of time, age, social status, and place. The lead roles in the film were played by Turkish actress Yana Rai and Kazakh filmmaker Tulepbergen Baisakalov. The filming took place in two countries, primarily on the shores of the Black Sea in Istanbul, and in a Kazakh village. The movie is scheduled for a wide release in Kazakhstan this autumn.
