An awarding ceremony of winners of the International school Olympiads took place in Nur-Sultan. The “Bilim-Innovation” international social foundation presented honorary certificates to Kazakh students who won medals this year in such subjects as mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry and computer science.
“For 30 years of Independence, I think there has been great progress in this field. I took part in such international Olympiads myself 15 years ago. Now the opportunities are enormous, the state does everything possible so that students could confidently participate at the international level,” said Abylai Samatov, chemistry teacher at “Bilim-Innovation” lyceum, Karagandy city.
At the international mathematics Olympiad that took place in Saint Petersburg, Kazakh students won six medals. One of the winners is a student of a school in the capital - Fethullah Sam.
“It was conducted in two rounds, we scored good results. Kazakhstan has three silver medals, one gold and two bronze. Last year I participated as well, but I got a certificate of honor at the international Olympiad. This gives me a great advantage when applying to the University,” the 12-grader said.
The competitions were held in different countries online. In total, prodigiesfrom Kazakhstan won 26 medals, including two gold, 13 silver and 11 bronze.
