Kazakh startup entrepreneurs developed a device that allows solving issues of food security. The young inventors created a drone, which can control the weather by making it rain. This drone is capable of protecting crops even in the years of the most severe droughts.
“What is the purpose of this project? There is the drought on a huge area every year, so that farmers do not get the harvest they planned at the outlet. Speaking of economy, they do not earn money. This concerns country’s food security as well. Therefore, our goal is to make more rainfalls per season for farmers to get more harvest,” said Almas Zhali, a startup founder.
The drone does not just make it rain. It can also disperse fog, which is another indispensable solution for such major cities as Almaty, where such weather happens regularly. The inventors are confident that the Kazakh-made drone is almost as good as foreign analogues.
“It has been used all over the world, for 30-40 years in the U.S., 10 years in Saudi Arabia, in the UAE as well. China allocated US$13 billion for such program. This is indeed a whole state program. China plans to take control over the weather by 2025. What have we got now? We conducted several experiments, making it snow, dispersing fog. We have not reached yet a phase to make a business. We present ourselves as the project, not business,” stressed Almas Zhali.
The developers will test the drone until the first days of summer. After that, the device will be also evaluated by foreign experts.
