Universities in Kazakhstan to introduce AI courses

In the upcoming year, universities in Kazakhstan plan to introduce a new mandatory discipline – artificial intelligence courses. According to the country’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education, future specialists will be competitive in the labor market, given the substantial demand for AI skills. This will be a domestically developed teaching method, as no university in the world currently offers AI learning courses, the ministry noted. The relevance of new specialists is testified by strategic documents, for example, in the 2023-2025 prudent gas consumption plan. As stated by the Ministry of Energy, AI will have to determine the quantity of gas consumed by the population. It is also planned to be integrated into the military service system.
