Two Kazakh teams participate in NASA International Space Apps Challenge

Kazakh students are participating in the NASA International Space Apps Challenge. The global stage is currently underway, where the nominees' projects are being evaluated. Finalists will be determined based on their results, with winners announced in January. Earlier, regional rounds in October saw around 9,000 teams from over 150 countries presenting space projects, of which 940 advanced, including two from Kazakhstan.

«Students Roman Ustimenko and Zhan Beisekeyev from the Pavlodar College of Information Technology, along with Igor Martynyuk from the Akhmet Baitursynov School, developed a 3D website and designed a solar system model with planetary trajectories based on real data and live video from the Curiosity rover. While Kazakh citizens have previously participated in this competition before, none have been selected for the world stage until now, making these pioneers in this field,» said Serik Jartybayev, head of the Pavlodar College of Information Technology.

«We have developed a website that features a model of our solar system and information about each space object within our galaxy. The content is available in multiple languages, including Kazakh, Russian, and English,» noted developer Zhan Beisekeyev.
