Previously, it was unclear who
headed Yandex Kazakhstan. Timur Shalekenov took over as CEO of Yandex
Kazakhstan in November 2024. Before that, he managed the social wallet project.
He was involved in developing instant payment systems and electronic financial
services. Born in Aktobe, he studied at the Kazakh National Technical
University and earned a degree in communications engineering. His résumé
includes several international projects. Nevertheless, his main goal in his
current position is to turn Yandex into a truly Kazakhstani company.
