Three wind farms with a capacity of 13.5 megawatts are being built in the Talas district of the Zhambyl region, local executive authorities report. A large power plant is also under construction that will collect the electricity generated by the plants. Renewable energy facilities are expected to be commissioned until the end of the year. Besides, it is planned to increase the number of plants in the region, and raise their capacity to 30 megawatts. The Zhambyl region has consistently occupied a leading position on the use of the wind, solar, and hydropower potential. More than a dozen investment projects for the construction of power plants with a capacity of 7 to 300 MW have been or are planned to be implemented.
