From mobile agriculture services to solutions utilizing
artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), teams in the
third stream of the Startup Garage incubation program presented new
developments at the Astana Hub international technopark. Aspiring startup
founders showcased a system designed for the agricultural sector, enabling
farmers to control water supply to the fields directly from their phones.
Sensors are connected to equipment that transmits real-time data, while AI analyzes
water usage and provides recommendations on how to distribute resources evenly
and reduce losses.
«The focus, of course, is primarily on
agricultural enterprises and farmers who cannot immediately afford expensive
technologies. Thanks to government support measures, 80 percent of the costs
are subsidized. Initially, the service will be free of charge. It is mainly
targeted at the southern regions, including the Almaty region and Taraz,» said
Berik Oryntayev, founder of a water-saving tech startup.
Last year, two Startup Garage streams saw 366
applications, with 204 selected. As a result, 79 projects completed incubation,
demonstrated sales growth, and entered international markets.
