In Kazakhstan, the internet
quality in schools has improved threefold, with all textbooks digitized and
available on 11 platforms. These and other data were provided by the country’s Ministry
of Education, which reviewed the results of the first half of 2024. Alongside
the introduction of digital technologies, the education system continues to be
refined, the ministry notes. Special attention is being given to infrastructure
development. In the first six months of the year, nearly 27,000 new preschool
places have been created, increasing the coverage of quality preschool
education to 91.5 percent nationwide. Thousands of rural schools are undergoing
modernization annually, receiving modern subject-specific classrooms for
robotics, chemistry, biology, physics, and STEM laboratories.
«The network of special educational
institutions is expanding every year. The share of schools that have
created conditions for inclusive education increased to 88 percent. The
coverage of children receiving special psychological support reached 80
percent. Additional criteria for creating conditions for inclusive education
were developed. Special attention is given to improving living conditions for
students of vocational education institutions. The construction of 11 new
dormitories for 2,600 beds is underway in the country’s regions. Thus, more
than 86 percent of students are provided with places in dormitories,» said
Mereke Nurmukhanova, Spokesperson for the Kazakh Ministry of Education.
To date, the Ministry of Education oversees
22,000 educational institutions, including over 11,500 kindergartens, 8,000
schools, and 700 vocational education institutions. The country has a
total of six million students and about 600,000 teachers.
