An online platform for automating small and
medium-sized businesses, AI-powered sensor insoles for medicine and sports, and
an app for learning English through AI-driven communication simulations – these
working solutions from Kazakh startup founders have advanced to the finals of
the sixth cohort of the international Silkway Accelerator program, a joint
initiative by Astana Hub and Google for Startups. Out of 200 applications, only
15 were selected. According to the expert panel, these products demonstrate
both maturity and high scalability potential.
«This year’s final list includes tech startups
from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and
Mongolia. All projects are at the PMF or Scale stage and already offer working
solutions in AI, fintech, education, logistics, e-commerce, medicine, and
business management. Over three years of the Silkway Accelerator, about 1,500
applications were submitted, with 77 startups from Central Eurasia selected, 62
of which have completed the program. Together, they have raised over $28
million in investment, and their combined valuation exceeds $500 million,» said
Anel Shegenova, Business Programs Office Manager at Astana Hub.
The finalists are currently undergoing a
three-month offline acceleration program in Astana. They receive mentorship
from international experts and support in developing their product and business
metrics. All teams will have the opportunity to compete for investment from the
Astana Hub Ventures fund. At the international Digital Bridge 2025 forum,
scheduled for October, the startups will present their achievements to a global
audience of investors.
