Starlink internet to be connected in flood-affected regions

The Kazakh Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry has dispatched over 30 Starlink terminals to the flood-affected regions. This equipment provides internet access via satellite communication. The terminals are primarily being installed in schools to ensure uninterrupted educational processes.

“The ministry has dispatched 30 Starlink terminals to the Kostanai region, three to the Aktobe region, two to the West Kazakhstan region, and one to the Ulytau region. Additionally, six terminals have been requested for the Atyrau region, two for the East Kazakhstan region, and three for the North Kazakhstan region. Upon request from the local authorities, the ministry is ready to send additional terminals during the emergency period,” said Albina Aten, spokesperson for the Kazakh Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry.

The restoration of mobile communication in the flood-affected regions is currently underway, as highlighted by the relevant ministry. Operators are replacing and relocating equipment to other locations, as well as connecting additional generators to the stations. Hundreds of specialists have been involved in the work. Operators have also provided free communication and internet access to Kazakh citizens evacuated from flooded areas.
