The first Geographic Dictation
initiated by the QazaqGeography community was held in Kazakhstan. Any Kazakh
citizen, regardless of age, could participate in the national campaign that
took place at geographical organizations and 10 universities across the
country. The questions covered a variety of topics, including famous landmarks,
sacred architectural sites, notable historical figures, and natural features of
the region. The event aimed to encourage interest not only in studying
Kazakhstan's geography but also its history and rich culture. Commemorative
prizes were awarded to participants who answered all questions correctly.
“The questions were carefully
selected to assess knowledge across various scientific fields, including
natural sciences, history, and more. They demonstrate how closely linked
humanities and natural sciences are in the modern world. We believe that a
country capable of fostering such an intellectual civil society is set for
great success in the future. Therefore, the goal of this geographic dictation
is to boost interest in sciences and development,” said Bekbolat Tolegenuly,
Head of Projects at QazaqGeography.
