The international project Silk Way Star is set to make a
significant contribution to strengthening Kazakhstan’s image and boosting
tourism, according to the jury members of the show. Recently, new experts
joined the panel, including South Korean composer and author of soundtracks for
popular K-dramas, Jeong Seong-min,
and Honored Figure of Kazakhstan, a member of the legendary group MuzART,
Saken Maigaziyev. They are confident that the music and vocal contest will
become a new signature brand of Kazakhstan and draw attention to the country as
a center of global events. The premiere of the international vocal contest Silk
Way Star will take place this Saturday, September 20. All episodes will be
broadcast on the Jibek Joly/Silk Way TV channel and on the television channels
of the participating countries.
«I think the project will have a major impact on Kazakhstan’s image. It will also positively influence the development of tourism. Singers and global stars from around the world come here to perform, and their managers themselves show interest in our cities. For us, this is a great honor. That is why the project is truly essential,» said Silk Way Star jury member Saken Maigaziyev.
«I have only taken part in such music projects on
Korean television, so until now I’ve judged only songs in Korean. But this is
my first time on an international project, where I’ll be evaluating
participants from different countries, performing in different languages. Each
has their own culture and unique singing style. Of course, when judging, the
artist’s vocals and performance are what matter most to me. But I might award
an extra point if a participant’s performance truly touches my heart,» shared Silk Way Star jury member from South Korea Jeong Seong-min.
