Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim
bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha. The Head of State personally expressed his
condolences over the passing of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, noting his
significant contribution to building a strong and prosperous nation. According
to President Tokayev, Sheikh Hamad played an active role in establishing and
developing bilateral relations. He paid two official visits to Kazakhstan, and
a number of projects were implemented with his support during the early years
of the country’s independence. In turn, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani
expressed his gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his personal support. At
the conclusion of the meeting, the Head of State reaffirmed his invitation to
the Emir of Qatar to visit Kazakhstan.
