The infrastructure project portfolio of the Samruk Kazyna
Sovereign Wealth Fund has surpassed $100 billion and includes more than 130
projects. The announcement was made by Samruk Kazyna CEO Nurlan Zhakupov during
a plenary session at the Astana Finance Days forum. He noted that large-scale
projects are underway across various sectors. These include the construction of
renewable energy facilities with a capacity of 5 gigawatts in partnership with
international companies, the launch of gas processing complexes and main
pipelines, the expansion of the Aktau and Kuryk ports, the development of dry
terminals on the border with China, and the installation of an underwater
fiber-optic cable across the Caspian Sea. Over the past six years, the Fund has
attracted more than $27 billion in foreign investment. Samruk Kazyna is ranked
among the 25 largest sovereign wealth funds in the world, according to SWFI.
«Samruk Kazyna’s development is

opportunities. By aligning Kazakhstan’s strategic objectives with international
best practices, we aim to foster sustainable growth,» Zhakupov said.
