The Saken Seifullin Museum has been replenished with
valuable exhibits to mark the 130th anniversary of one of the founders of
Kazakh literature. They shed light on the short but bright life of the
political and public figure. According to the museum director, many years of
research led to the discovery of the poet’s personal belongings, which have
been added to the archive alongside historical documents, including the Land
Code of 1922, introduced during his tenure as chairman of the Council of
People’s Commissars. His contribution to the development of domestic aviation
and the organization of the first flights in Kazakhstan is of particular
importance. A literary event took place in Astana, featuring readings of
Seifullin’s works and staged adaptations of his writings.
«Large educational institutions all over Kazakhstan
celebrate the anniversary of Saken Seifullin. This year, our museum has
expanded its exhibit collection. One of them, for example, is a coffee grinder
that once belonged to Seifullin himself. When he was rector at the pedagogical
institute in Kyzylorda in 1928, he loved to drink coffee, and the coffee
grinder he used has now been preserved. Seifullin lived only 44 years, but he
left a bright mark in the history of his country and people,» said Marat Absemetov,
Director of the Museum.
