Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met Russian President
Vladimir Putin at Astana airport upon his arrival in Kazakhstan for a state
visit. A guard of honor was lined up at the airport in honor of the
distinguished guest. As a symbol of friendship between nations, Vladimir Putin
and members of the official delegation were greeted by children holding flags
and reciting poems. Professional artist Assel Sabyrzhankyzy showed her painting
to the heads of state, a piece she began working on since Vladimir Putin’s
departure for Astana. The artwork will be given to the Russian President as a
gift at the conclusion of his visit.
