Despite the fact that strict quarantine in Kazakhstan was lifted, the demand for employees with the remote work schedule keeps growing in the country. This is evidenced by the official data. The experts noted that, first of all, the digital transformation of all life spheres contributed to this. The pandemic only accelerated the process. Therefore, the remote working will further become more attractive and promising.
“In general, in 2020, employers have increased the demand for employees with the remote work schedule due to the pandemic. For example, if in 2019 the share of vacancies with the remote working did not exceed one percent from the total amount of vacancies posted over a year, then in 2020 this figure grew to two percent, and sometimes even to three during the strict lockdown. If we look at the current situation on Kazakhstan’s labor market, we see that employers maintain this demand for the remote work staff at two percent at the end of February. We cannot say that the interest from employers is declining. It remains at the level of 2020,” said Dana Kassymova, PR Manager, Headhunter Kazakhstan.
According to social survey, in turn, jobseekers are open to work remotely without leaving home. Many people even study again those disciplines that do not require working in office, noting that the remote working is a great time saver and does not require spending money on snacks outside the home and on formal clothes. According to the analysis of recruiting agencies, jobseekers prefer to work remotely in professional areas such as accounting, sales, manufacturing, construction, arts, entertainment, mass media and others.
“If in 2019 the share of CV with the remote work schedule was six percent, then in 2020 this figure increased to eight. At the end of February, this figure reached ten percent of posted CVs,” said Dana Kassymova, PR Manager, Headhunter Kazakhstan.
