The second agricultural census is
planned to be undertaken in Kazakhstan from August to October in 2025. It will
be preceded by a test count which will take place this summer. Data will be collected
across various aspects, including issues on agricultural crops, livestock, farm
sizes, and others.
“The census list includes
agricultural enterprises, legal entities, farms, and individual enterprises
engaged in agricultural activities. It will also encompass personal subsidiary
farms in rural and urban areas with a household plot for cultivating crops or
raising livestock. We are also planning to check summer cottage plots and see
what is being grown there and in what quantities,” said Assel Dzhartybayeva, spokesperson
for the Bureau of National Statistics.
A livestock traceability system to
streamline information and establish process transparency in the
agro-industrial complex is being introduced in the country. The database is
being tested in a pilot mode in the Almaty, Pavlodar and Zhetisu regions, as
well as at border checkpoints. It allowed for digitizing the process of issuing
certificates, including a veterinary examination certificate and a QR code
containing data on the full life cycle of an animal.
