On October 17 and 18, Kazakh
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will pay an official visit to China and take
part in the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. During the
trip, the Head of State is expected to hold talks with Chinese President Xi
Jinping, Premier of the State Council Li Qiang and Chairman of the Standing
Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji. President Tokayev will
also hold a number of meetings with the heads of large Chinese companies. It is
worth reminding that the Belt and Road initiative was first announced in Astana
in 2013. Its implementation will ensure the creation of a transit transport
system connecting China with the countries of the Eurasian continent and
Africa, as well as establish trade relations and stimulate economic growth.
