Graduates of the business incubation and acceleration programs at the NURIS Innovation Cluster presented 24 startups in the fields of EdTech, MedTech, FinTech, HRTech, and E-Commerce. The developments were initially showcased at a special exhibition, followed by presentations of their features and opportunities to a jury composed of venture capital fund representatives and potential investors. The main goal of Demo Day participants is to attract funding to implement their ideas, and thus scale and monetize them.
«The startups are already collaborating with venture capital
funds and attracting venture capital investments. Over the next two-three
years, it will become clear how far they progress and which Kazakh or foreign
markets they penetrate. For instance, some of our participants who graduated
three years ago are currently selling their products in the markets of the
United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and other countries,» said Abzal
Daribayev, Director of Innovation Development at NURIS.
Kamilla Kishkashbayeva successfully completed the
incubation program. The young inventor presented to the jury a unique
innovative autonomous robot designed for the needs of farmers, which allows for
highly targeted pest control in agricultural fields. The robot is equipped with
artificial intelligence and computer vision and is even capable of learning.
«We are currently working in pilot mode with a Kazakh
company. Our primary objective at the moment is to cut a deal with it.
Additionally, we plan to make five sales by year-end and enter the CIS market
by 2025. To date, we have attracted a total of $18,000 in investments,» said Kamilla
Kishkashbayeva, KazagroTech startup project founder.
The business incubation and acceleration programs of the
NURIS Innovation Cluster have been operating for eight years, training about
300 entrepreneurs and attracting over three billion tenge in investments for
their startups.
