Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev received Astana mayor Zhenis Kassymbek who reported on the development
of the capital. The Head of State was informed that positive dynamics is
observed in all key economic indicators. In the first 10 months of 2023, the
capital inflow into the economy of Astana exceeded one trillion tenge. By the
year-end, it is planned to commission 25 investment projects with a total cost
of nearly 88 billion tenge. These projects span various sectors, including
manufacturing, education, healthcare and logistics. The Kazakh President was
also briefed on the progress of the heating season. According to Kassymbek, the
construction of the South-East gas heating station, the initial stages of the
Turan gas heating station, and the CHP-3 have been completed in the autumn this
year. The first phase of commissioning the Telman and the second phase of the
Turan gas thermal power stations are slated for 2024. The construction of five
palaces for schoolchildren and public kindergartens will begin in the capital
next year as well. Following the meeting, President Tokayev gave several
instructions for further development of social and engineering infrastructure.
