Tokayev instructed the Karagandy region governor Yermaganbet Bulekpayev to
closely monitor the situation at Qarmet facilities. Bulekpayev reported on the state
of the enterprise and the measures taken by the new investor to increase
production volumes, as well as plans for modernization and ensuring labor
safety. The Head of State was also briefed on the results of the social and economic
development of the region. Thus, in the first 11 months of 2023, the volume of
industrial production exceeded three trillion tenge. Investments in fixed
capital reached 727 billion tenge. Significant growth was noted in machinery –
almost by half, light industry by 24 percent, and pharmaceuticals by 20
percent.
“At the meeting, the Head of
State was briefed on the results of the socio-economic development of the
region for 2023. Positive trends continue regarding investments, SMEs, trade,
construction, and other areas. Last year, 11 large investment projects were
implemented, leading to the creation of over 2,500 permanent jobs,” said Yermaganbet
Bulekpayev, governor of the Karagandy region.
