Today, Governor of the East Kazakhstan region Nurymbet Saktaganov reported to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the region’s socio-economic development. In 2025, the region maintained positive growth momentum. Growth was observed in sectors such as construction, agriculture, and trade. Investment in fixed capital exceeded 838 billion tenge, while the investment portfolio included more than 100 projects. The region continues to see active construction, with over 400,000 square meters of housing commissioned. Particular attention is being paid to infrastructure modernization, with 856 kilometers of roads repaired last year. In the past 12 months, around 30,000 jobs were created in the region, and a further 18,000 are planned this year under the Regional Employment Roadmap. Following the meeting, President Tokayev instructed to continue efforts to improve the environmental situation, diversify the economy, attract investment, and develop tourism in the region.
