The Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, to be held in Nur-Sultan in September, will raise the most topical issues. The role of religions in strengthening spiritual and moral values in the modern world, the contribution of religious figures and politicians to the promotion of global interreligious dialogue, as well as countering extremism, radicalism and terrorism, are among them. The issue of women’s contribution to the sustainable development of society will also be discussed. Religious scholar Kairat Kurmanbayev noted that Kazakhstan is pursuing a peace-loving policy, and the tolerance of its citizens, which ensures interfaith stability, sets an example for many people.
“Such congresses are the platform for the adoption of various important declarations. Undoubtedly, this will significantly contribute to the maintenance of social stability, peace and unity in such a multi-religious and multi-ethnic country as Kazakhstan,” said Kairat Kurmanbayev, Chairperson of the Congress of Kazakh Religious Scholars.
