Over 121,000 Kazakh families received targeted social assistance as of August 1. In total, more than 622,000 people received the aid. According to Kazakh Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, 83.8 billion tenge was allocated from the state budget for these purposes. The ministry emphasizes that this type of state support is granted to those citizens whose average per capita income is less than 70 percent of the regional subsistence minimum for each family member. Minors are also offered special support.
“A guaranteed social package is allocated for minor children. It is provided in the form of food products, distributed both quarterly and monthly, to families with children from one to six years old. Household chemicals are distributed every quarter. Certain types of activities from the educational fund are also organized for children from six to 18 years of age,” said Nursaule Yeleuova, spokesperson for Kazakh Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population.
Kazakh citizens can apply for the targeted social assistance by contacting public service centers at their place of residence, as well as via the egov.kz portal.
