Kazakhstan has adopted a comprehensive plan for the development of the
Shchuchinsk-Burabai resort area, set to run until 2029. The decree approving
the plan was signed by the Prime Minister. The document outlines 118
initiatives worth over 137 billion tenge. The resort’s modernization will cover
key areas, including the creation of year-round tourist facilities, the
development of ecological and sports tourism, and the construction of new
recreational zones. Children's centers, sports and wellness complexes, a
year-round water park, glamping sites, campgrounds, boat stations, and more
will be built along the resort’s lakes. Winter activities will also be a key
focus. Plans include establishing ski bases with sports equipment rentals, food
services, and souvenir shops. The project also envisions the construction of
transport infrastructure, including multi-level parking areas with visitor
centers. The plan is expected to nearly triple the number of inbound tourists,
attract additional investment, and more than double tourism’s contribution to
the regional economy.
