Over 137 billion tenge to be allocated for Shchuchinsk-Burabai resort area development

The development of tourism infrastructure, transport logistics, digital solutions, security systems, and investment attraction. Kazakhstan has adopted a comprehensive plan for the development of the Shchuchinsk-Burabai resort area, set to run until 2029. The decree approving the plan was signed by the Prime Minister. The document outlines 118 initiatives worth over 137 billion tenge. The resort’s modernization will cover key areas, including the creation of year-round tourist facilities, the development of ecological and sports tourism, and the construction of new recreational zones. Children's centers, sports and wellness complexes, a year-round water park, glamping sites, campgrounds, boat stations, and more will be built along the resort’s lakes. Winter activities will also be a key focus. Plans include establishing ski bases with sports equipment rentals, food services, and souvenir shops. The project also envisions the construction of transport infrastructure, including multi-level parking areas with visitor centers. The plan is expected to nearly triple the number of inbound tourists, attract additional investment, and more than double tourism’s contribution to the regional economy.
