Kazakhstan plays an important role in ensuring global energy security. Its rich natural resources and strategically important geographic location have made the country a key supplier not only for Europe, but also for Asia and Central Asia. OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais stated this in an exclusive interview with Kazinform Agency correspondents on the sidelines of the KazEnergy Forum.
«Kazakhstan is an important global player. It has
around 30 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, which is almost 2% of the
global reserves. So, I think Kazakhstan is well positioned also for the future
to continue to play this important role in becoming an energy supplier for the
world: with stability in the government under the wise leadership of His
Excellency President Tokayev, and its ability to attract foreign investors into
the country to continue working with the local companies,» noted OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais.
