The population of the Kazakh capital may double by 2035, announced its mayor Altai Kulginov at the briefing. He noted that due to the growing number of citizens, it is now necessary to develop the social and engineering infrastructure of Nur-Sultan. Thus, a number of adjustments have already been made to the master plan of the city. Schools, kindergartens, sports centers and parks must be built in every block. For example, a new eco-alley is planned to be constructed on Taldykol Lake this year. The planting of green spaces will begin this autumn. Kulginov also reported on the progress of the construction of general educational institutions in the capital. It is planned to create over 20,000 seats available for pupils this year. In total, 34 schools will be built in three years. In addition, Kulginov commented on the decision to continue the LRT construction, identifying it as a serious engineering and transport project.
“The project is being developed by experts, builders, engineers, so all the details are considered, such as bearing capacity, weather and climatic conditions. The task is to ensure that all of the above-mentioned is taken into account and that the project is completed in a qualitative manner. The concrete pillars are of very high quality, each weighs about 200 to 220 tonnes. They are reinforced concrete structures. The concrete grade is very high, so its quality is checked by the specialists. Moreover, there are technical and architectural supervisions, so it undergoes multiple controls. The most important task is for this project to be well completed,” the mayor said.
