The mayor’s office of Nur-Sultan, with the support of Astana Hub, announced a competition for the best IT projects, searching for intellectual and digital solutions in the development of the capital's infrastructure. The main criterion is that they should benefit the city and simplify the daily life of its residents using smart technologies. However, despite the fact that the competition was announced among start-up projects, it must be a ready-made product that has already been introduced to the market, experts point out. The areas range from education and healthcare to utilities, ecology, safety and transport. Participants will be able to submit their applications by August 22 on the Astana Hub platform. The best of the best will be selected at the pitching event scheduled for August 26, where the contestants will have to prove that their project will really benefit the city.
“For example, there are a number of traffic-related issues in the city. The problems of many of our drivers would be solved if the IT companies improved the traffic system in the capital. Projects of this nature will be supported. However, these should only be ready-made solutions. In my view, this is a unique offer for the IT market. The city is big, therefore, the companies will thus be able to advertise themselves to increase the number of their customers,” Assem Tolegenkyzy, chief manager of the Corporate Innovation and Digital Competence Office at Astana Hub, said.
