The New Year’s express train has been launched from Astana to the Burabai resort area. The branded electric train consists of six carriages, two of which were specially decorated with New Year-themed paintings by a Kazakh artist. Besides, the interior of the express train is adorned with Christmas decorations, garlands and snowflakes, creating a festive and magical atmosphere for passengers.
“The festively decorated train will operate
until the end of the New Year holidays. This year, the interior of the cars
of trains No. 4/3 ‘Astana-Nurly Zhol-Almaty’, No. 77/78 ‘Almaty-Mangystau’, No.
45/46 ‘Pavlodar-Turkistan’, and No. 38/39 ‘Mangystau-Semei’ has also been
adorned for the holiday. The main fairy-tale characters of the New Year –
Kazakh Santa and the Snow Maiden – will congratulate passengers on these trains
on the upcoming New Year and give them presents,” said Nariman Dyussekeyev,
Spokesperson for the Passenger Transportation company.
The train cars have specially installed
mailboxes so the little passengers have the opportunity to make their most
cherished wishes and send letters right to Ayaz Ata, a character similar to
Santa Claus. Moreover, the fairy-tale characters personally congratulate
every traveler, both Kazakh and foreign, on the New Year.
Congratulations to all Kazakh citizens on the
New Year! I wish peaceful skies above us and unity for all people.
Wishing everyone a festive New Year atmosphere
as well as success in work, studies and family.
According to the Kazakh Ministry of Tourism and
Sports, last year, the New Year’s electric train transported over 16,000
