New enterprises launched in Tajikistan’s free economic zone

Focus on industry - new enterprises have been launched in the free economic zone ‘Sughd’ in Tajikistan. It is one of the four economic zones in the country, offering tax and customs benefits to attract investors and stimulate production. Currently, more than forty factories are operating here, including those producing building materials, such as decorative panels.

«Panels for facades of various types, which resemble stone in structure, and are lighter and more convenient for installation,» said manager Ilkhom Mukhammedov.

Plastic and aluminum profiles will be produced at this new facility. The factory’s products are competitive and import-substituting. They intend to supply the domestic market and expand into exports.

«Our employees produce finished plastic and aluminum products in accordance with European standards. The company can manufacture up to 6,000 tonnes of plastic products annually. This capacity will be increased to 8,000 tonnes per year after three years of operation,» said staff member of the enterprise Mukhsin Abdusattorzoda.

Notably, the products manufactured by the enterprises in the free economic zone are supplied to Central Asian countries, Russia, China, and Afghanistan.
